Here’s the low-down on me.
I’m a single mama to five (yes, five) sweet girls who keep me busy, grounded, slightly insane and joyful. When I’m not behind the camera, you can often find me in my kitchen (which is undoubtedly a mess), on Pinterest daydreaming I might have time to make all of the amazing DIY I find, or trying to keep up with my daughters who are a good combo of sugar and spice.
My girls and I currently live in Lake Zurich, IL, and before I started my photography business in 2007, I worked as an elementary school teacher teaching Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. I love, love, love working with children, and so turning my passion for photography into a business where I could photograph children all day, happened very naturally.
So obviously photography is “my thing”. I love it and can’t imagine doing anything else for my day job. Spending cherished moments with families as they experience a new baby, new milestones, or just everyday moments is THE. BEST. I love capturing families as they are, encouraging laughter and fun in each session. My style is casual and I seek out natural light whenever I can. I’m happy to make a total fool of myself trying to coax out some giggles, and take all the extra time it requires to get shy children to relax and have some fun.
My goals? I want my clients to actually enjoy their session and I want to create timeless photos that will look good on your walls for years and years. I’m not in a rush and I’ve discovered some of the best pictures happen when you least expect it. No need to worry about the perfect pose and smile, I want to capture your family’s essence.
